Happy Veteran’s Day and thank you to all who served! The Sangaree office and county offices are closed today. Sangaree services (chipping, metal pickup, and e-waste pickup) are delayed one day. There is NO CHANGE in household trash services, including yard debris and bulk pickup.

The Sangaree Office & Shop will be closed Monday, September 2, 2024 in observance of Labor Day. All services will be delayed one day the week of September 2-6, 2024. Enjoy your holiday weekend!

All Berkeley County offices will be closed today, Friday, August 9, 2024. This also includes the Courthouse, Berkeley Animal Center, Cypress Gardens, Library branches, the Berkeley County Landfill, and Convenience Centers.

Bond court will still hold a session today at 2 p.m.

Berkeley County has transitioned back to OPCON 1 status with full activation of the Emergency Operations Center.

Many areas across the County are experiencing severe flooding and several roadways are closed. Find a list of road closures at https://berkeleycountysc.gov/road-closures/?pagenum=2 . Rescue operations have been ongoing throughout the early morning hours on Friday. Please do not drive through flooded roads or around barricades.

An emergency shelter is open at Berkeley Middle School, located at 320 N. Live Oak Drive in Moncks Corner.

Mark your calendars! The August public meeting is quickly approaching and we would love to pack the house with residents. We will have coffee and donuts for all in attendance. Come make your voices heard!

The Sangaree Special Tax District Office & Shop will be closed Monday, May 27, 2024 in observance of Memorial Day. All services delayed one day.

Please join us for a Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 9:30 am that will be held at the baseball field at Sangaree Park in honor of the late Dale Chisler, former commissioner.

The Community Easter Egg Hunt event has been pushed back one day to Sunday, March 24, due to expected rain in the forecast. The time is still expected to be from 2:00 pm through 4:00 pm on Sunday.

The annual Sangaree Community Easter Egg Hunt is coming on Saturday, March 23 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Donations and volunteers are still needed for this event, so please reach out to Kathy Cardenas at 843-697-6926.

The annual Sangaree Community yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 13 starting at 8:00 am. This is driven by the community with assistance from the Sangaree office. If this is your first time, this is how it works:

• Call the Sangaree office to register at 843-871-9720.
• Your address will be placed on a list with a map.
• You will host the yard sale at your home like normal.
• The list will be available at the Sangaree office and the Sangaree Library in advance of the yard sale date as well as the day of the event.
• The end result is more traffic driven to your yard sale!
• Deadline for registration to be on the list is Thursday, April 11 at 12:00 pm.
